Adding a Shelly Plus Plug S to Homeassistant
I bought a Shelly Plus Plug S, because I could if I want, install ESPHome on it. But first I started to use it with the firmware from Shelly and added the plug to Homeassistant using the Shelly integration.
First steps were connecting to the AccessPoint of the plug and add my WiFi. Then deactivate the AccessPoint so that my neighbours cannot control the plug. I configured a few other things: the name and the LEDs (decreased brightness a lot). Then I looked into Homeassistant and it was already shown as newly detected device.
The integration has all I need:
It even reminded me to update the firmware, which was as easy as pressing a button.
Changing the Firmware to ESPHome is possible, but for me not worth it. For future me: esphome-devices and the Pinout to flash the ESPHome firmware.
